Marianna Gol gave this teaching in Session 3 at the Nourishment From the Root 2016 Conference.
To live prophetically is to live in the tension between the world and the Spirit. Our tendency is to hold on to one and let go of the other, but we are called to live in both. One of the challenges to the kingdom is that we are called to be one with Israel while Israel is still blind. The mission we are meant to carry together, Gentiles must carry alone. Many believers get discouraged and let go of Israel. Marianna explains that the blindness of Israel gives Gentiles a unique opportunity to be faithful to Yeshua by entering in to the pain of His own rejection. She further explains that when “all Israel is saved” this opportunity to be faithful in the darkness will be gone. Marianna then discusses a rabbinical concept called the season of the Hidden Faces of God. Through scripture she shows that God reveals His face only through Yeshua – seen in the Old Testament as “the Angel of God’s Faces.” God hides His face to draw Israel back to Himself. If God can show His Face only through Yeshua, and if we know God is hiding His face from His people, who is He hiding? How do the Jewish people see the light of His countenance today?
